Ann Clark | CLARINET, SAXOPHONE

Education: Ann graduated from Rochester Adams High School and studied clarinet privately with Douglas Cornelsen of the Detroit Conelsen of the Detroit Symphony Orchestra. Ann received a Clarinet Scholarship to Michigan State University and studied with Clarinet Professor Frank Ell. WHile at MSU Ann was a member of the Spartan Marching Band where she played Alto Saxophone. Ann graduated from MSU with a Bachelor of Music degree in Music Education.

While a band director and teaching full-time in public and private schools, Ann attended Oakland University where she received her Masters Degree in Music Education.

Career: Ann has over 30 years of teaching experience. She has vast experiences directing bands at all levels, teaching elementary general music, and teaching private music lessons. Ann was a Band Director and Music Teacher at Our Lady of the Lakes Grade School and High School. Most of Ann’s teaching experience was for the Pontiac School District, she retired from Pontiac Schools in 2019. Ann continues to maintain a private music lessons studio.

Performances: Ann has performed with local concert bands throughout her career. Currently Ann performs with the Waterford New Horizons Band where she sits first chair. Ann has been a member of the band for over 10 years.
