Adam James | DRUM SET, CLASSICAL PERCUSSION, HAND PERCUSSION

Adam James is a Detroit-area drummer, multi-percussionist and educator who is known for his versatility, performing every musical style from jazz and blues to rock & roll and musical theater. He has toured nationally, recorded for film and television and performed with such artists as Kim Wilson, Lazy Lester, The Tokens, The Crystals, Frankie Ford, Stewart Franke and Theo Gridiron. Adam attended Michigan State University where he studied orchestral and hand percussion as well as drum set. He was awarded a scholarship from Wayne State University where he earned a degree in Music Industry Management with an emphasis in performance. Adam maintains a busy teaching schedule, working with private students and in public schools throughout metro Detroit as a percussion clinician and drum line coach. He instructs students of all ages and experience levels and approaches music lessons with flexibility, adapting lessons to students’ various learning styles.
